CerbyBridge is a cross-chain token transfer protocol that allows users to bridge CERBY and any Cerby-wrapped tokens across supported networks. To provide decentralization and ensure the security and openness of DeFi protocols, CerbyBridge is an essential product for CerbyToken, and all Cerby inherited tokens.
In contrast to other bridges, CerbyBridge operates by burning the tokens on the originating chain and minting tokens on the destination chain. Other bridges lock tokens on the originating chain and mint new tokens on the destination chain.
The protocol requires users to commit two transactions: one on the originating chain and one on the destination chain:
Burn the tokens on originating chain (confirm in MetaMask)
Mint the tokens on the destination chain (confirm in MetaMask)
Bridging requires users to have the native token (e.g., BNB, Matic, ETH, etc.) on the originating and destination chains.
To list on our bridge, tokens must be created through the Cerby Wrapping Service and be well-known by the blockchain community.
